Cleo had me retouch a series of large-scale prints for her gallery show in Chelsea. The show was incredibly well-attended, considering it was snowing on the night of the opening. Cleo must have more friends than anyone else I know. They were all there that night to tell her how wonderful she is—and no doubt every word they said about her was true. The show was called "Flesh" and it juxtaposed naked models with pictures of hot dogs and sliced ham. I suppose Cleo was making some kind of ironic feminist statement there, but from my perspective, the hot dogs required less retouching than the models did. Which was just as well, because I'd rather spend my time with the latter. Even the most glamorous hot dogs aren't all that interesting....
