This image was created for a cover story on the gloom and doom in the stock market, Nasdaq in particular. Time and Newsweek have a long and proud tradition of indicating tops and bottoms in the market: when Time runs a cover about stock market euphoria, it's probably time to sell; when Newsweek's cover says there's a bear market out there, it's probably time to buy. But Newsweek hedged its bets this time and asked the question: "How scared should you be about the shaky stock market?" The contrarian answer, of course, is that you shouldn't be scared at all. Or to quote a leading spokesman from another venerable Time Warner publication, Mad's Alfred E. Neuman: "What, me worry?"
